BLOG - Compliblogs to the Chef

Most restaurants aren't that keen to give their customers a forum to discuss the positives and negatives of their dining experiences. But CRU is quite an unusual restaurant ... As the Chef, I would love to hear all your comments about the food the good, the bad and of course the ugly. I am also always looking to expand my list of local organic suppliers so if you wish to recommend or even share a recipe here 's the place to do so.

I didn't have a trip to your restaurant but now I think I should pay you a visit just because you want me to comment/compliment. Get ready to know my thoughts on your menu :)

Have often walked by CRU and last night popped in with a friend for dinner. It was really lovely - the food fantastic and the bottle of prosecco perfect for a light sunny evening.

The service was excellent and best of all we never felt rushed or hassled even though we did not order lots of courses. I cant wait to come here and share a cheese board with a mate and a yummy bottle of red wine. Thank you! Lucy

Thank you so much for your compliment about the food and wine Lucy, I love getting feedback - obviously working in the kitchen doesn't always make this the easiest place to get it.

Our cheese boards are changed monthly, so if you have any particuar favourites, do let me know and will try and source some organic suppliers

Hi there In your new sharing platters you mention grilled lamb with gremolata... sounds divine .. can I be rude and and ask you how to make so I can do the same at my barbecue on Saturday (if it doesn't rain)... if it does maybe we will just come to CRU instead!

Well,  all you need is the rind of one lemon (finely chopped) 3 chopped cloves of garlic (finely chopped), and finely chopped parsely along with salt and pepper & oil, just mix the ingredients together and then drizzle over the lamb when it is cooked.  It is delicious, so enjoy!!

Great tapas, amazing chorizo, can you tell me how you made the pepper marmlade?

Well all you need to do is fry off some chilli, red onion and garlic in a pan with garlic oil and sweat them for several minutes.  Then add some red wine vinegar and reduce, once it is reduced you then add some caster sugar, continue to let it to reduce then add the red peppers, fry until the peppers are soft.  Its very simple, any queries on quantities just leave me a blog.  Kathie
